Alia Bhatt’s recent disclosure about her dynamics with Ranbir Kapoor has stirred up the internet, with many labelling his behavior as a ‘warning sign’.
Ranbir Kapoor is once again being dubbed a ‘red flag’ by the online community following Alia Bhatt’s recent revelation in a Vogue India video. In the clip, Alia demonstrates her lipstick application technique, emphasizing her effort to keep it faded and subtle due to her husband’s aversion to it.
In the video, Alia charmingly revealed her unconventional lipstick application technique—instead of applying lipstick directly to her lips, she playfully glides her lips over the lipstick. She acknowledged that the method might seem peculiar, but it’s her preferred approach for achieving the desired effect. Demonstrating her commitment to a faded look, she gently removes most of the lipstick from her lips. Alia humorously shared the reason behind this practice, saying, “Because one thing my husband…when he wasn’t my husband but when he was my boyfriend as well… he would be like ‘wipe that off, wipe that off’ because he loves the natural color of my lips.”
Although Alia intended to share an endearing insight into her relationship with Ranbir, her revelation garnered a mixed response. Some were not entirely charmed, with a number of individuals referring to Ranbir as a ‘red flag’—a term used to describe potential signs of an unhealthy relationship. One comment highlighted the concern, “The more I hear about Ranbir Kapoor, the more I worry for her. If your boyfriend/husband is asking you to wipe off your lipstick, it’s a significant red flag! It’s neither cute nor amusing. It’s astonishing to think that one of India’s most celebrated actresses is experiencing this.”
“I wouldn’t tolerate a guy who tells me to remove my lipstick anywhere near me,” another person shared candidly. Another commenter expressed disbelief, stating, “It’s hard to fathom that a highly acclaimed actress is rubbing off her expensive lipstick simply because her ‘bf/husband’ requests it.” The revelation certainly ignited a diverse range of reactions from the online community.
A portion of the audience also expressed fatigue over Alia’s frequent mentions of her wedding and husband in her interviews. Previously, when Alia mentioned that Ranbir ‘doesn’t like’ her raising her voice during disagreements, they received comparable comments. “I need to put in considerable effort to control my anger because my husband dislikes it when my voice gets louder. He believes it’s important to maintain kindness, even in moments of displeasure,” Alia shared during an interview with Vice.
Alia and Ranbir tied the knot in April of the previous year and now proudly parent their daughter, Raha. The couple also collaboratively debuted their first film, “Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva,” last year.
