Deepika emphasized the importance of practising self-care without feeling guilty about it. Learning this lesson over the years, she now understands the value of indulging in self-care activities unapologetically.

Deepika highlighted her belief that skincare is an integral part of self-care. Whether a quick 30-second routine or a more indulgent 30-minute ritual, she encourages practising skincare mindfully and intentionally, without guilt.

Deepika credits her mom for instilling in her the “less is more” skincare mantra. Watching her mother’s simple yet effective skincare routine growing up had a lasting impact, and she continues to follow the same approach as her go-to skincare routine.

Deepika follows a “Cleanse, Hydrate, and Protect” skincare routine, which involves thoroughly cleansing her skin, then applying hydration products, and finally, protecting her skin from the sun and environmental factors. She mentioned that this routine became essential for her during her early twenties when she started her journey in the modelling industry.

“I was a professional badminton player until the age of 16. During these formative years, I had no real understanding of skincare or good practices for my skin health. All I did was wash my face with water. No cleansing. No hydrating. And definitely no sunscreen,” Deepika said.

Deepika emphasized that her “Cleanse, Hydrate, and Protect” skincare routine has been the most straightforward and effective for her. For any additional skincare needs, she seeks advice from a dermatologist. She has been a strong advocate for self-care, promoting both physical and mental well-being, and her own skincare brand reflects her dedication to this cause.

International Self-Care Day falls on July 24 each year, symbolizing the importance of self-care as a continuous practice, just like 24/7. This day serves as a reminder to prioritize our well-being and engage in self-care daily, every hour of the day, and throughout the week. It encourages individuals to take care of their physical, emotional, and mental health consistently for a balanced and fulfilling life.
